Echoes of Mystralia Story & Setting

Mazarim, a young mage, arrives in the haunted world of Mystralia — a land broken by magic where every Memory can be shaped into a spell.

Mazarim exploring the world of MystraliaThe world remembers everything — and Mazarim gathers those Memories to craft spells.

Echoes of Mystralia follows Mazarim, a young mage who arrives in the haunted world of Mystralia — a land where every soul carries a Memory of the world, and a mage can shape those Memories into spells. The game is the spiritual successor to Mages of Mystralia, with a full roguelite loop and a deep spellcrafting system at its core.

This page collects everything we know about the setting from the official Steam page and the developer's official site.

The Setting

The world of Mystralia

The lands of Mystralia, now trapped in the horrors of their past. A vast world unfolds before you — only you can uncover its hidden truths.

The Rift

A Rift has opened in the Cycle of Memories. It is draining the World's Memory, and everything you love about Mystralia is disappearing into it.

Divinities and primordial Guardians

The world is watched over by Divinities and primordial Guardians — ancient beings scarred by war and exploitation who hold keys to the world's memory.

Choose your path

Every path through Mystralia has its own challenges, encounters and rewards. Your journey is yours to command.

The Rift

Mystralia is a world where magic is personal and Memory is power. The Rift tore reality apart and left Shadows of the Past walking the land — twisted remnants of everything lost. The Divinities and their Guardians once shaped the world; now they watch what remains of it.

The Protagonist

Mazarim arrives in Mystralia as the successor to the mage of Mages of Mystralia. The hub — the Azimuth Temple — is where Mazarim develops skills, prepares for runs and watches the Cycle of Memories unfold. Each run gathers new Memories, new spells and new fragments of the world's story.

Story note: The official tagline — "Memory is power" — is literal. The Memories you collect are the spells you cast, and the story you uncover is the world you rebuild.
